About the Amiel Centre
The Early Childhood Program at Solomon Schechter’s Preschool celebrates the uniqueness of each child. Jewish life and Jewish identity are cornerstones of our program. Children will not only learn the traditions of the holidays, but they will also learn about Jewish values, Hebrew and menshlekeit. Children will be left with a strong sense of Jewish identity, as well as the tools necessary to navigate their growing world.
At Solomon Schechter Academy we respect individual differences in learning styles and growth patterns, and we understand that children thrive socially, emotionally and intellectually when provided with a developmentally appropriate environment. Teachers are available to support and facilitate children’s interests and activities. Our thematic curriculum is play-based and creates an environment that is nurturing and teaches responsibility, respect, values and independence. Through planned activities, classroom organization, materials, daily schedules and interaction with the children, we seek to accomplish the goals of the curriculum and provide your child with a successful start in school. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s education and are always welcome to volunteer their time. As well our devoted parent committee helps enhance our preschool by giving parents the opportunity to work with the administration on several projects that will benefit the school.
